Florida veterans can receive credit to get security or private investigator jobs
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. May 17 2017 – It’s a little easier for Florida veterans to get a job as a private investigator or a security guard.
The state’s Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services says veterans can receive credit for relevant military training when applying for licenses.
“The men and women who have served and sacrificed for our country deserve all of the support we can provide,” said Commissioner of Agriculture Adam H. Putnam. “If a veteran received military police or security training, we should give them credit for it when they apply to be a private investigator or security guard.”
According to the Fresh From Florida website, To receive credit for relevant military training or education that is substantially similar to the training or education required for licensure, applicants can submit a DD Form 214 at time of application. Other official documents showing military training, education, or experience will also be considered, including: joint services transcripts, training certificates, job evaluation reports, or commanding officer letters describing particular training or experience and number of hours dedicated to its performance.
