Fontana California security officer shot to death

The Fontana police department announced on Saturday that an on-duty, private security officer was shot to death in the city late Friday night.
The security officer was shot to death at a Fontana restaurant on the corner of Juniper Avenue and Foothill Boulevard at about 11:13 p.m. according to the police.
Officers were called to the location in response to a shooting with few details.
Upon arrival, the officers located a security officer suffering from several gunshot wounds inside the restaurant. Paramedics arrived, but the victim later succumbed to the injuries.
The suspect fled prior to the arrival of law enforcement.
No other details were immediately available.
The investigation is ongoing.
In June, another security officer in the City of Fontana was also shot and critically wounded.
Phillip Serrano, 42, of Fontana, a suspect in that shooting, was located in Upland and taken into custody on suspicion of attempted homicide, the Fontana Police Department said in a news release.
Police responded to a shooting in the 16800 block of Spring Street and found a security guard shot in the chest.
He was taken to a hospital for treatment and later released.
