Former DC special police officer sentenced for stomping on arrestee’s face

WASHINGTON DC February 23, 2026 A former special police officer who stomped on an arrestee’s face while the person was already pinned to the ground was sentenced to 12 months in prison Thursday.
U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro said Brigette Robertson, 40, violated the constitutional rights of a citizen while acting in an official law enforcement capacity during the 2023 arrest.
On June 24, 2023, Robertson was working as an armed security officer for Specific Protection Services at a McDonald’s on Minnesota Avenue NE.
According to court documents, Robertson got in an argument with a patron that escalated into a physical fight.
After Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) officers arrived and successfully pinned the patron to the floor, Robertson stepped over the person and stomped on their face, causing them to bleed.
Robertson’s actions were later determined to have no legal justification. Robertson will serve her one-year term in federal prison.
