Four women arrested after Kohl’s shoplifting spree
Buffalo NY Aug 21 2017 Four 21-year-old Buffalo women were arrested for stealing merchandise from Kohl’s Department Store and then driving away – with young children under the age of 5 alongside.
According to a police report, the women entered the Delaware Avenue store, took clothing into four separate fitting rooms, and hid the merchandise in the purses and bags that they brought with them. They left the store without paying, apparently using aluminum foil found in one of the purses to thwart the store’s alarm system.
A Buffalo police patrol car stopped them almost immediately after they drove away. Daveisha Hunter of Northumberland Avenue, Theressa McMillan of Garner Avenue, Samaan Grasty of Hewitt Avenue and Miari Bishop of Dartmouth Avenue all were charged with petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property.
Hunter was also charged with unlawfully dealing with a child, and possession of burglar’s tools. McMillan was charged with endangering the welfare of a child. Bishop, the driver, also faces traffic violations for not wearing a seat belt and not having the children in appropriate child restraints.
