Framingham woman caught shoplifting from Target two days in a row
FRAMINGHAM MA July 1 2019 — Police say a local woman shoplifted two days in a row at the Target store on Cochituate Road, making off with more than $1,400 in merchandise.
Police arrested Sarah McWilliams, 45, at about 2:20 p.m. Thursday, charging her for incidents that occurred that day and the day before.
On Thursday, store security called police and said they had caught a shoplifter trying to leave the store with a carriage full of items, according to a police report filed Friday in Framingham District Court.
“They said that they caught Sarah McWilliams shoplifting numerous times from the store,” police wrote in the report.
One of those incidents occurred Wednesday.
During that incident, McWilliams stole almost $1,050 worth of items, including two fans valued at $450 each, a $30 scale and a $90 comforter, police wrote in the report.
On Thursday, store security said McWilliams stole another $375 worth of items, including three pairs of jean shorts each worth $29, 20 bottles of flavored water valued at $1 each, electronics and other beauty items. The total value from the two days was more than $1,400, police wrote in the report.
Police arrested McWilliams, of 160 Grant St., and charged her with two counts of shoplifting of property worth more than $250.
During McWilliams’ arraignment Friday in Framingham District Court, Judge Martine Carroll released her without bail, but ordered her to stay away from Target. McWilliams is due back in court on Aug. 1 for a pretrial conference.
