Frankfort KY security officer stabbed
Frankfort June 9 2019 A nightclub security guard was rushed to the hospital Thursday night after a patron allegedly stabbed him in the stomach when he was asked to leave.
Frankfort police on Friday arrested Nocomis G. Miner, 47, in connection with the incident. He was charged with first-degree assault, a Class B felony.
Officials reported that the victim, whose name was not released, sustained non-life-threatening wounds in the incident.
According to official reports, police responded at about 11:45 p.m. Thursday to the Brick Alley, 325 St. Clair St. in downtown Frankfort.
“The patron had been asked to leave the bar and he got upset,” said FPD Capt. Lynn Aubrey. “He had already left by the time police arrived.”
Aubrey said the security guard was taken to the hospital to be treated for a puncture wound to the torso. She declined to say whether the weapon had been left at the scene and recovered by police.
Officers then began the hunt for a suspect, later identified as Miner. FPD reported that he was “well-known by staff and patrons” of Brick Alley.
Miner was arrested at about 2:30 p.m. Friday. Police said the case is being treated seriously.
“While the wound was not life-threatening, it was a serious puncture wound,” Aubrey said.
