Ga security guard arrested in disturbance
Columbus GA April 10 2018 A man working as a security guard at the Ralston Towers was arrested after breaking a window there Saturday, cutting himself, Columbus police said.
Stephan Andrea Reese had a preliminary hearing Monday in Columbus Recorder’s Court on a charge of second-degree criminal damage to property for smashing his arm through a window in the lobby of the 211 W. 12th St. apartment homes, police said.
A Ralston manager testified the damage occurred as Reese tried to run off a former Ralston resident who kept returning to the building after being evicted.
A police officer said witnesses saw Reese punch the window, but Reese later could not recall what happened.
The manager said Reese called her afterward to report the damage. Reese, 27, was arrested there at 8:40 a.m. Saturday, according to Muscogee County Jail records.
The manager said repairs will cost from $1,000 to $1,200, and the security company employing Reese will pay for the damage.
Judge Julius Hunter set Reese’s bond at $1,500 and sent the case to Muscogee Superior Court.
