GAINESVILLE, Fla. Aug 7 2018 – Brian Sapp was walking away from Simon’s nightclub after he was kicked out when Joseph Henley pulled out a baton and hit Sapp in the face.

Bystanders recorded the incident without calling the police. Gainesville Police found Sapp lying in a pool of blood 12 minutes later. Sapp is currently in the ICU and is unable to speak

Police say, after reviewing surveillance footage, they were able to identify and arrest Henley.

Henley is being charged with aggravated battery and is being held on a $75,000-dollar bond.
