Gang tires to murder Derbyshire security officer
Derbyshire England Feb 1 2019
A Morrisons security guard says a gang of thugs tried to murder him as he walked home in Belper.
The security officer was left needing hospital treatment after he was jumped by 20 people following his night shift on January 19.
The guard, who wishes to remain anonymous, was making his way home at around 10.30pm when a gang of youths with covered faces started to follow him along Bridge Street.
He said he ignored the group as they threatened him with violence, until one approached him and asked where he was going.
He claims he told the gang he was trying to go home before one approached him from behind and swung a glass bottle in his face.
They began beating him before he managed to crawl to a nearby house to call for help.
Now he believes the attack was “premeditated with the intention to kill” and there is nothing to stop them doing it again.
He said: “I managed to take one to the ground before I was then battered continuously.
“I eventually managed to get to a resident’s door and shout for help.
“The group then ran off back to the old Somerfield car park.
“I genuinely believe the attack was premeditated with the intention to kill me, not to just hurt me.”
The security guard was rushed to hospital where stayed for six hours while doctors checked for internal bleeding.
He said he is currently recovering well at home but will be “out of action” for a while.
He continued: “This group should be seen as local level terrorists as they are very well organised, they do carry knives and they have the genuine belief they can do whatever they want when they want and there’s nothing anyone can do to stop them.
“I know it’s not their first attack and I’m definitely sure it won’t be their last.”
A spokesman for Derbyshire police said: “Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing, there have been no arrests. Anyone with any information which may assist with our enquiries, is asked to get in touch via 101, quoting reference 19*31411.”
Surely there must be some CCTV around that picks the incident up.. it’s so scary to think they are still out there.. nobody is safe these days.. no matter what time of day or night it is
The issue here is that I guarantee that the local police know exactly who it was but no evidence and for them to actually do anything they need to have multiple impartial witnesses.
