Garda Armored Truck Filled With Cash Overturns In PA
Falls Township PA September 15 20196
More money, more problems.
An armored truck filled with cash and coins overturned at South Old Boulevard and Chatham Road in Falls Township’s Fairless Hills section around 10:30 a.m. Thursday.
Police said there were no injuries and the crew had little trouble escaping the large hauling vehicle.
Firefighters, medics, and police responded to the scene.
A number of officers were on hand as of noon as money was transported from the crashed truck to a second armored vehicle.
It was not immediately clear how much money was on the GardaWorld truck, but bags of cash and lots of change was spotted. An armored truck driver was seen using a shovel to scoop up change spilled inside the vehicle.
The truck lost control after a car turned into front of it. While the other car wasn’t hit, the truck ended up going off the road and landed on its side against a flower bed, police said.
A large tow truck from Rob’s Automotive was on scene to upright the heavy vehicle.
