Garland TX security officers critically wound man shooting at them

A man was critically wounded after police say he exchanged gunfire with two security officers outside a Garland restaurant early Sunday.
Officers were called about 12:45 a.m. to the Lupita Cafe near West Walnut Street and North Plano Road.
Police said a customer who had been removed from the restaurant after a disturbance was involved in a shootout in the parking lot with the security guards.
The man was shot and transported to a hospital, where he remained Sunday morning, Garland police spokesman Lt. Pedro Barineau said. The security guards were not injured.
Barineau said no arrests have been made. An investigator plans to interview the security guards on Monday, and police also plan to speak to the wounded man soon, he said.
Police did not release the names of the wounded man or the two guards.
