Glendale medical student threatened to kill other students, bomb campus
GLENDALE, Ariz. June 25 2021- Police say a Glendale medical student was arrested after she threatened to kill several other students and bomb the school’s campus.
According to court documents, 29-year-old Mona Asadi sent out a mass email to about 200 students on June 9, naming victims that she allegedly wanted to kill.
Investigators accuse Asadi of writing “I have been watching several of you closely since the beginning of last fall. I am here to punish the females and males whom I do not approve of.”
Detectives say Asadi also wrote several personally threatening messages, such as “get a grip and just lose the attitude,” and “I want to see the blood leave your body.”
The school’s dean reportedly confronted Asadi, but she denied sending the messages, and reported that she was also receiving threatening messages.
The college president told police she sent a message from her campus-listed phone, saying that she was on her way to home the campus. Police say they also linked the Gmail account to her phone number.
Asadi, officials say, was arrested on Wednesday, after police linked the other threatening messages to her email addresses and social media accounts. Police say Asadi had not been doing well in school and had failed two medical board tests.
So far, police say four victims have been identified.
