Greensboro Bail Bondsman Shot Multiple Times While Trying To Arrest Fugitive

A bail bondsman is in the hospital after being shot four times by a man he was trying to take into custody.
According to the Thomasville Police Department, the incident happened around Friday around 9:17 p.m at the Thomasville Inn on National Highway.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found bondsman Daniel Snipes of Greensboro suffering from gunshot wounds. Two other bondsmen were able to take the suspect into custody prior to officers arriving.
Nathaniel Neil Braswell, of High Point, fired seven shots from a semi-automatic pistol striking Snipes four times, investigators say.
Two of the bullets were stopped by a bulletproof vest Snipes was wearing.
Snipes had two gunshot wounds to the abdomen. He was transported to Wake Forest Baptist Hospital where he is being treated.
Braswell, 22, was wanted for failure to appear in court of a charge of failure to report change of address for a sex offender and a felony probation violation.
Additionally, Thomasville detectives charged Braswell with attempted first-degree murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a schedule II substance.
Braswell received a $165,000 secured bond and was placed in the Davidson County Jail.
Investigators say the bondsmen were all armed, but they did not fire any shots at Braswell.
