Greensburg, PA woman wanted for robbery, assault on Macy’s security agent
Greensburg, PA Oct 19 2017
Using tips from the public, state police in Greensburg this week obtained an arrest warrant for a Jeannette woman on robbery and assault charges after she allegedly bit a Macy’s security guard who tried to stop her from shoplifting as she left the Westmoreland Mall store.
Trooper Daniel Poponick charged Carley Lynn Johnson, 19, with robbery, retail theft, simple assault and harassment in connection with the Sept. 11 incident in Hempfield before Youngwood District Judge Anthony Bompiani.
Poponick reported that investigators identified Johnson after several people called police after her photograph was shown by news outlets.
Store security told police that Johnson concealed several Ralph Lauren sweaters and sweatpants in her purse and tried to leave the store without paying.
As she walked toward the exit, a security guard stopped her, grabbed her purse and attempted to restrain her.
Police allege Johnson bit the guard’s left forearm and fled through the store’s parking garage exit.
Police said she got into a silver Nissan driven by an unidentified white male.
Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call police at 724-832-3288.
