Group threatens security officer with deadly force
MILLCREEK Utah April 17, 2025 — A large police search came up empty in Millcreek late Monday after an armed group of people wearing ski masks threatened a security guard, according to Unified police.
Sgt. Aymee Race with the Unified Police Department said at some point before 10:30 p.m., six to eight people wearing ski masks entered the Richmond Apartments near Highland Drive.
At least one of the people pointed a gun at the security guard on the premises and told him not to call the police. Race said the guard did make an emergency call, and multiple agencies responded to help locate the group.
The complex — two large buildings with six and seven floors — was searched and cleared by the many officers that responded, Race said.
Fortunately, the complex did not have anyone else inside it at the time of the incident.
“Officers were out here for a significant period of time. They were unfortunately not able to locate the individuals,” Race said. “So, we’ll be contacting our detectives to work on this case and hopefully gather enough information to locate them.”
