Halton Canada July 30 2019
According to police, on Sunday (July 28) at around 2:30 a.m. two bobtail transport trucks pulled up to the gate of a cargo yard in the area of Steeles Avenue and Winston Churchill Boulevard.
“While the drivers engaged in conversation with the gate security guard, a third male came up from behind, placed the guard in a head lock and held a gun to him,” reads a Halton Police press release. “This suspect then demanded the guard open the gate to permit the trucks’ entry into the yard.”
However, before the guard could comply with the demand, the suspects realized they were on cctc and fled scene in the trucks.
The security guard was not injured and police are crediting his calm demeanour.
The trucks in questioned are believed to have been stolen in Oakville earlier in a separate incident.
Two of the suspects involved have been described as being male, black, and having Caribbean accents.
The Milton and Oakville Criminal Investigation Bureaus are investigating this matter.
