Harford County security employee passes away
Harford Md. May 5 2020— Harford County Executive Barry Glassman ordered the county flag to be lowered in honor of longtime first responder and county employee, Andy Snakovsky.
Snakovsky passed away on April 29 from an illness unrelated to COVID-19, according Glassman.
Nearly 50 years ago, Snakovsky began his career as a first responder in the U.S. Air Force and later served the Annapolis and Baltimore City police departments.
“Andy dedicated his life to public service, most recently as an important member of the security team for county buildings,” County Executive Glassman said. “Our hearts go out to his family. He will be greatly missed.”
As a security liaison for Harford County, one of Snakovsky’s duties included lowering the flags at the county office.
The Harford County flag will fly at half-staff from sunrise on May 4 to sunset on May 6.
