Harrah’s Casino Security Captures Purse Thief
JOLIET, IL Sept 15 2018 – The Joliet Police Department announced that a 61-year-old woman who lives all the way in Chicago was arrested at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday after police say she stole another woman’s purse inside the downtown Harrah’s Casino.
Lillian Molina now finds herself staying at the Will County Adult Detention Facility. She’s being charged with felony theft.
According to Joliet Police, officers were notified by the Harrah’s Casino security team that Molina was being detained for a possible theft.
“Agents” observed the victim accidently leave her purse unattended, at which time Molina retrieved the purse and exited the casino.
Molina was then observed going through the purse and taking money out,” police reports show.
Later, Molina returned back to the casino and gave the purse to an employee, police say.
“When the victim noticed her purse was missing, she contacted security, at which time they informed the victim her purse had been located.
Agents were able to locate Molina in the casino, where she was turned over to officers. Officers were able to recover most of the stolen funds from Molina,” incident reports state.
