Head-on collision kills Texas security officer
MILAM COUNTY, Tex. April 3 2019 A fatality accident Sunday morning in Milam County has claimed the lives of two people with College Station ties.
The crash happened on FM 485, 11 miles west of Hearne, according to to the Cameron Volunteer Fire Department.
Sources tell KBTX Crystal Ranslem, a 32-year-old security guard at the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum, was killed in the accident. Ranslem lived in Temple and was on her way to work when it happened.
The other victim in the accident has been identified by DPS as Nathan Ellard, 20, of College Station.
The head-on collision is still being investigated by troopers.

On Sunday, March 31, 2019 at approximately 8:06 a.m. a two-vehicle crash occurred on FM 485 approximately 11 miles west of Hearne. Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers responded to the scene.
A 2005 Mazda passenger car was traveling west. A 2018 Nissan SUV was traveling east. The Mazda crossed over the center stripe into the path of the Nissan. Both vehicles collided head-on. The driver of the Mazda was Nathan Ellard, 20, of College Station.
Ellard was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Nissan was Crystal Ranslem, 32, of Temple. Ranslem was transported to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center where she later died. Next of kin have been notified.
