Heavy metal band, Las Vegas security have violent confrontation -3 security officers injured
LAS VEGAS NV Aug 24 2018 It was a violent confrontation between a heavy metal band and security guards on the Las Vegas Strip.
The lead singer of the band “Attila” punched a security guard in the back of head, claiming he was protecting his fans at the show.
Profanity-laced cell phone video captured the chaos.
In the video, you can see Chris Fronzak ranting on stage. Fronzak claims he was standing up for his fans at the show.
A fan in the audience who wanted to remain anonymous spoke to News 3 about the show.
“The show was called Rage Fest, so it’s going to be rowdy no matter what,” he said.
The show lived up to its name when it turns violent.
It happened Wednesday night at the Hard Rock Live. The venue is inside the Hard Rock Café on the Las Vegas Strip.
It’s located on Las Vegas Boulevard near Tropicana.
“You see the band going after the security after they had been kind of rough with the fans throughout the night,” said the anonymous fan.
In the video, you can see Fronzak throwing his mic stand and microphone before walking off stage.
He accuses the security guards of choking crowd surfing fans.
“I would see them grabbing the fans. Almost like putting them in chokeholds while walking them away,” said the anonymous fan.
Contemporary Services Corporation, was in charge of security for the show.
According to Nevada’s Vice President of the company, Jay Purvis, three security guards were hurt at the show.
Purvis said Fronzak sucker punched two security guards and a third guard was hit with a guitar in the back.
He added all the security guards are doing fine.
“They were all professional in performing their duties for our client, Hard Rock,” said Purvis.
The company filed a report with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
According to police, Fronzak could be facing a battery charge.
Fronzak took to Twitter after the show. He apologized to fans for cutting the concert short.
In a tweet, he told News 3, he didn’t want to do an interview because “snitches get stitches.”
T he Hard Rock has released the following statement:
“The safety and security of our fans, staff and performers is our top priority. We are disappointed in the escalation of events at the Attila show last night. While we believe security acted in an appropriate way to protect the best interests of guests, we are reviewing the incident to ensure proper protocol was followed.”
