Hilton Hotel security aid police in major drug bust
EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ May 14 2018 – Members of the East Brunswick Special Investigations Unit received information about a male selling a large quantity of cocaine and marijuana within the Township of East Brunswick at the Hilton Hotel, according to a report released by the EBPD today.
After an extensive investigation, members of the East Brunswick Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit and Detective Bureau, with the assistance of the Middlesex County Narcotics Task Force, Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit, and Hilton Hotel Security, executed a search warrant and recovered five kilograms of cocaine (approximately 11 pounds) and 13 pounds of raw marijuana.
Street value of the drugs recovered is estimated at $450,000.00.
The suspect, Jonathan Reyes, 24, of Kendall Park, NJ and Alyssa Ugarte, 24, of Brick, NJ were taken into custody on February 22, 2018 and charged with Possession and Distribution of Cocaine and Marijuana. Both Reyes and Ugarte were transported to and detained at the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Facility in lieu of a bail hearing.
