Hospital lockdown after rock thrown through window mistaken for gunshots
MISSOULA, MT March 18 2020 The Missoula Police Department says they responded to a call of shots fired Sunday evening that they later concluded as unfounded.
Police say they were called in to the 500 block of West Broadway just before 6 p.m.
Not long after, police say another call of shots fired came in from the 800 block of Toole Avenue.
At that time, a security guard at St. Patrick hospital confirmed that the building was placed on lockdown.
After an investigation, police say they concluded that both reports were false.
Officials say instead, they found that a large rock had been thrown through an exterior window.
Police arrested one man in connection with the first call, who is in the Missoula County Detention Center on charges of felony criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, and obstructing a peace officer.
