Hotel security officer assaulted- 1 person arrested
Kenosha WI June 24 2019 Kenosha police arrested a man after he was accused of striking a security officer in the face at a local hotel late Wednesday.
The 32-year-old man was taken into custody following the 3:24 a.m. incident, according to a Kenosha Police Department report. Police recommended charges of substantial battery intending bodily harm and bail jumping.
According to the report, police initially were called to respond to a naked man wandering around the Wyndham Garden Hotel, 5125 Sixth Ave., and the security officer had been attempting to locate him.
When police arrived at the scene, hotel staff called back saying that the security officer had been punched in the face and the naked man was being detained. Earlier, the man had been observed running around and “acting bizarre,” according to the report. The man had been a guest at the hotel and apparently tried to sneak back in after checking out. Police said he had also gone to a nearby restaurant, where he failed to pay his bill after eating.
According to the report, the security officer had a large gash on his face and hairline, along with cuts to his lips that were bleeding. The security officer had the man pinned in a stairwell. The man also had cuts to his head and face and swollen eyes.
The man was transported to Froedtert South Hospital for treatment. The security officer drove himself to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries, according to the report.
