HOUSTON TX Feb 26 2018
Houston police officers are investigating the shooting death of a man killed during the overnight hours by a security officer.
Houston police received a call about the shooting shortly after 3 a.m. and dispatched officers and an ambulance to 5600 block of North Shepherd.
Police say that an armed security guard shot a man after he was allegedly firing shots into the club from outside, according to HPD.
Police say that the security officer was acting in self-defense and in defense of the club’s patrons.
After reviewing security camera footage, police say it appears the suspect was in some sort of verbal altercation with another person outside of the club before the shooting.
It does not appear that anyone else was injured during the incident.
Police are asking anyone with additional information to come forward.
