Houston Security Officer Exchanges Gunfire-Captures Three Armed Robbery Suspects

An alert security officer patrolling a Houston apartment complex responded to a woman screaming and found that she had just been robbed.
She was able to give the security officer some description information and he notified police.
While officers were responding to the La Estancia Apartment Complex building in the 6200 block of Gulfton around 1 a.m., the security officer found the men and followed them to an area off US-59 and Chimney Rock. Moments later, the security officer and the men exchanged gunfire.
A 15-year-old suspect was shot in the leg by the security officer, and the driver of the vehicle crashed into another car.
The security officer was able to hold all three men at gunpoint until police arrived. Police say they found a weapon inside of the suspect’s vehicle.
Police said that the three robbery suspects are accused of being involved in five separate robberies in the Houston area.
The security officer was not reportedly injured.
