Houston security officer exchanges gunfire with carjackers

A carjacking was reported at a west Houston apartment complex which brought a security officer to confront and then exchang gunfire with two suspects.
Police said that the carjacking started at 3:30 a.m., when the two suspects came up to a man in the parking lot, held him at gun point, pistol whipped him and took his car, according to the Houston Police Department.
The security officer then saw the injured man and the suspects, and one of the gunmen shot at the security officer. The security guard shot back, but no one was hit in the shootout, police said.
The carjacking victim was taken to the hospital with a serious head injury from being hit with the gun.
The suspects got away, but the carjacked vehicle was later found to be abandoned.
