TX. Security Officer Kills Armed Man Outside Game Room
HOUSTON TX December 13, 2021 – Authorities were investigating after a security officer allegedly shot and killed an armed man outside a game room in east Harris County Saturday night.
The shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. in the parking lot of a business in the 700 block of Normandy near La Riviera Street.
According to Harris County Sheriff’s deputies, the security guard was working at the game room when he was approached by a man, identified as Ruben Martinez, who appeared to be aggressive.
Some sort of altercation occurred, and Martinez displayed a handgun, deputies said.
The security officer told police that he felt threatened and shot Martinez.
Martinez was pronounced dead at the scene.
The security officer was detained for questioning.
It was unknown if any charges will be filed as the shooting is still under investigation.
