IAHSS awards Don MacAlister the Distinguished LifeWork Medal
Canada Sept 9 2020 The International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety recently announced its IAHSS Foundation 2020 winners, including Don MacAlister, recipient of the organization’s Distinguished LifeWork Medal.
“I am so pleased to congratulate and recognize all the IAHSS Foundation award winners,” said IAHSS Foundation Board President, Bonnie Michelman, in a statement. “These awards are coveted, difficult to achieve, and highlight the professionalism and outstanding performance and accomplishments in the healthcare security and safety industry.”
MacAlister is currently senior advisor to Paladin Security Group and the organization’s former chief operating officer.
Vancouver-based Paladin acknowledged the award in a company blog post, noting that MacAlister is “known for staying active and giving back to IAHSS… Don continuously encourages those who are new and old to the industry to do the same.”
MacAlister has also been acknowledged by Canadian Security magazine for his contributions to the field of health-care security. In 2010, he was named Security Director of the Year, during his tenure as Executive Director of Integrated Protection Services for Fraser Health in Langley, B.C.
In 2018, MacAlister was recognized by Canadian Security with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
