Illinois security guard guard bitten, pepper sprayed
DARIEN, IL July 21 2023 A woman told officers she did not know why she was attacked earlier this month at a Darien bar, police said.
Through a public records request, Patch obtained the report on the incident. It occurred about 12:30 a.m. July 8 at Q Bar, 8109 Cass Ave., police said.
Surveillance video showed a woman identified as Catherine Eberwein, 27, of Woodridge, running up behind Jacinda Richardson, 30, of Bolingbrook, who was sitting on a barstool next to the entrance, according to the police report. Eberwein was seen punching Richardson a number of times, police said.
A 60-year-old security guard then got between them, shielding Richardson, police said. Richardson then bit the guard while he was still covering her, police said.
The guard then threw Richardson to the ground, landing on top of her, the report said. Richardson then hit him and pepper-sprayed him, police said.
The guard told officers that Richardson bit him on the left wrist and that he pulled her mouth off with his right hand. He said he threw her to the ground to hold her down, police said.
The report stated Richardson denied hitting or biting the guard, but then later said she did not recall whether she did.
Jacinda Richardson, 30, of Bolingbrook, was arrested on two counts of battery. She was released and given a date to appear in court.
Catherine Eberwein, 27, of Woodridge, was arrested on charges of domestic battery and assault. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
