Indiana hospital security officers wrestle, subdue man who hacked computer system
INDIANAPOLIS IN October 11 2018 A Kentucky man is facing several charges after hacking into an Indiana hospital’s computer network.
According to court documents obtained by WTHR, Charles Thomas snuck into a secured library after hours at Community Hospital North and got on the hospital’s intranet site by using stolen credentials from an employee.
A security guard confronted him but Thomas fought back. It took the help from a second guard to handcuff him.
According to a statement from the hospital, no patient data was obtained: “Community Health Network is aware of the incident and we are working closely with law enforcement on the investigation. No patient information was stolen during the incident.”
Officials have not said what part of Kentucky he is from.
