Internet cafe security officer disarmed, handcuffed during robbery
LAKE COUNTY, Fla. December 14 2019 Lake County Sheriff’s Office said they’re looking for two of the four men who robbed several people at gunpoint in an internet casino and, in the process, handcuffed a security guard and took his gun Friday morning.
Steve Manor and Zakee Garhi were both arrested for allegedly robbing several people inside Joy’s Internet Casino, according to deputies.
During the robbery, a security guard was handcuffed and his gun was taken when the suspects rushed into an internet gambling business to rob it Friday morning, deputies said.
Manor and Garhi took off but were caught a short time later. They told investigators the name of another suspect who was the “mastermind” behind the robbery.
Internet gambling businesses are illegal in Tavares, but Joy’s remained open Friday afternoon with a steady stream of customers going inside.
Employees declined to comment.
Lake County investigators said their resources are spread too thin since the unit responsible for investigating the internet casino is busy addressing drug cases such as the opioid epidemic.
