Jackson TN security officer assaulted at Gander Outdoors store
Jackson TN Sept 18 2018 A security officer was assaulted early Monday morning at Gander Outdoors on Vann Drive, according to the Jackson Police Department.
Officers responded to the scene of the assault around 2:21 a.m.
The security guard said he had approached two males who were looking at the campers parked in the Gander Outdoors parking lot, according to the report.
One of the men struck the security officer in the head, rib cage and knee with a “miniature baseball bat,” according to the report.
The condition of the security officer is unknown at this time, nor is it clear if he sought medical treatment. A representative from Gander Outdoors declined comment.
Both men fled the scene in a white Jeep Cherokee with Weakley County registration, the report states. Their current whereabouts are unknown.
