Jenks Police Department Sgt. Brian Crain Dies Of Sudden Heart Attack
Jenks, OK March 5 2019 – Jenks Police Department (JPD) Sergeant Brian Crain died of a sudden heart attack on Feb. 23, according to his department.
The 47-year-old sergeant was rushed to Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, where he was pronounced dead, according to Tulsa World.
“The Department, community, and his family are grieving the loss of a true hero today,” Jenks Police Chief Cameron Arthur said in a Facebook post. “It was an honor and privilege to work with…Sgt. Crain. He truly served his community, family, and Department with distinction and honor. He will be missed greatly.”
Sgt. Jenks was a longtime resident of the community he served, having also graduated from Jenks High School, Chief Arthur said.
He joined the JPD in 1999, and “rose through the ranks” during the two decades that followed, according to the chief.
Sgt. Jenks was also a beloved member of the community, resident Emilie Smith told KOTV.
“The thing that made him a hero was that he cared for people. He genuinely cared for people,” Smith said. “The love that they knew coming from him he shared with other people, too. And that’s what makes him a hero to me, and a great man.”
Sgt. Crain leaves behind his wife, Lisa, and their sons, Hunter, Gavin, and Ethan, according to his obituary.
He is also survived by his father, sister, step-sisters, aunt, and “many brothers and sisters in blue and a host of friends,” his obituary read.
“Brian will be remembered for the outstanding gentleman he was, his servant heart, laid back personality, calm demeanor, outstanding character, and overwhelming kindness,” the tribute continued. “He leaves behind many loving memories with his friends and family.”
Sgt. Crain was laid to rest on Wednesday.
