Kansas City security officer found shot to death at work
KANSAS CITY, MO December 16 2018
A security officer working the overnight shift in Kansas, has been found dead.
The Kansas City police said that they are investigating the death as a homicide.
Officers went to the area of 8701 Elmwood at about 5:30 a.m. after someone called and requested an ambulance. Several businesses, including Sodecia Automotive Kansas City, LLC are listed at this address.
When officers arrived, they found a black Nissan that was in a business’ parking lot.
Arriving police officers said a man, later identified as 20-year-old Lee McNowelly from Independence, Missouri., was found shot inside the vehicle.
Police said he was working the overnight shift at that location as a security guard when he was shot and killed in his vehicle.
Police said there is no suspect description at this time and that the motive behind the crime is unknown.
