Kentucky security guard goes missing, search underway
Knox County KY Feb 13 2020
A security officer on his way to work has disappeared and law enforcement said on Wednesday that there has been no sight of him or his vehicle.
The Kentucky State police, county sheriff deputies and fire and EMS agencies have been searching for Ronnie Bryant, 74 since he was reported missing on Thursday, February 6 2020.
In a news release, state police said that Bryant was last seen leaving his home shortly before 9 p.m. Thursday night.
Bryant is a night security guard at the mining site off of KY 92 east in Whitley County, and was expected at the site at 10 p.m that night.
The state police said that they are unable to search the routes Bryant normally takes due to high water in those areas and have not found him on alternative routes.
Bryant drives a 2012 silver Nissan Murano and was last seen wearing a Storm Security shirt. He is 5’10” 240 pounds, hazel eyes, mustache, and gray hair.
Family members tell police that he is a diabetic with other health issues, requiring heart medication.
Searches were conducted by boat from Whitley County Emergency Management on Hwy 92 E in Whitley County but no evidence of Ronnie or his car was found.
Co-workers and friends also searched on all routes from his home to work, with no answers.
“We care about our employees more than anything. Ronnie, being the great guy that he is, I feel he deserves that from us,” said friend and co-worker Shane Young. “From the public, we ask that they pray for Ronnie and his family. And, if they want to come out and search in Whitley County, we don’t want anyone hurt or anything like that. If they pass by and wouldn’t care just to look on the side of the roads and things like that.”
The family searched his home for any information into his whereabouts but do not believe he went anywhere other than work.
If anyone has any information on Ronnie Bryant or his vehicle, you are asked to call Kentucky State Police, Post 10 at (606) 573-3131.
