A Kitchener man is facing several assault charges after a Grand River Transit (GRT) security guard was assaulted with a glass jar Saturday afternoon.
The man, 34, had been issued a trespass notice for all GRT and LRT property in the past and was approached by GRT security at an LRT stop on King Street in Kitchener shortly before 4 p.m., according to police.
One of the GRT security guards was then assaulted with a glass jar and required medical attention as a result of his injuries.
GRT security arrested the man. He was later taken into Waterloo regional police custody.
