Knife pulled as Peterborough store security officer confronts four shoplifters
Peterborough Ontario Canada July 8 2018 City police say a lone security officer at a Chemong Rd. store confronted four suspects believed to be shoplifting, then gave chase when they fled.
As they took off in different directions, one of the suspects sprayed the officer with silly spray. Shortly after, a suspect allegedly pulled a knife and threatened to kill the officer.
City police searched the area and found four suspects.
Laney Smith, 25, of Park St., was charged with assault.
Jameson Ferguson, 20, of Park St. was charged with theft under $5,000.
Cassandra Quigley-Solinski, 23, of Dalhousie St. was charged with theft under $5,000.
Jacob Nastuk, 26, was charged with uttering threats and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
The four were released and are to appear in court July 25.
