Knife-wielding woman attempts to bite officer, says ‘I’m drunk and I smoked crack,” police say
MADISON, Wis. April 3 2019 – A woman with a knife who attempted to bite an officer was arrested in downtown Madison Saturday, police said.
Madison police said officers responded to the Madison Public Library on West Mifflin Street at about 4:30 p.m. following reports that a knife-wielding woman, whose speech was slurred, was outside waving the weapon around and yelling at people in the area.
Police found that a private security guard had gained control of the knife after the woman, 36-year-old Christine R. Johnson, dropped it, according to the report
Johnson was uncooperative and tried to bite one of the officers, police said.
Before she was handcuffed, she told officers, “I’m drunk and I smoked crack,” according to the report.
