Knox County Schools graduates security officers for 2020 and 2021classes

Officers were sworn in during a Knox County Schools Security Officer graduation ceremony at South-Doyle Middle School in Knoxville, Tenn. on Thursday, July 29, 2021.
School security officers are employed by Knox County Schools.
They carry bond cards from the Knox County Sheriff’s Office which allows them to carry a gun and make arrests on school property or while working a school function.
Elementary schools have school security officers while middle and high schools use school security officers and school resource officers from the city police or sheriff’s office.
Officer of the year Michael Cain was honored during the graduation ceremony.
