Laredo UPS employee allegedly caught trying to steal iPhones
Laredo TX December 19, 2021 The Laredo Police Department announced on Friday that a man was arrested for allegedly stealing iPhones at a UPS facility.
Police announced that Alfredo Flores was arrested on Wednesday.
The 21-year-old man has been charged with Theft of Property greater than or equal to $2,500 and less than $30,000 — a state jail felony.
Laredo police responded to a theft call on Dec. 15. Officers arrived at the UPS Customer Center at the 11900 block of Hayter Road. Once there, they spoke to the UPS Operations Supervisor who stated an employee had been caught stealing, police said.
The suspect, Flores, allegedly was discovered trying to steal two iPhones valued at $1,500 each. The man was caught with the phones when security guards conducted a check and found them inside his lunch bag.
Police said that Flores was arrested on the scene and transported to LPD headquarters. He was remanded to the Webb County Jail pending a hearing.
