Las Vegas Security Guard Charged With Murder
LAS VEGAS NV July 2 2019 The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has released
more information about the killing of a man by an armed security guard.
According to LVMPD, just after 8:00 a.m. on Saturday officers responded to the business complex in the 6400 block of N. Decatur Boulevard in reference to a man down in front of a building.
Detectives found surveillance video that showed the victim, identified as 27-year-old Max Garcia, in front of the business just before 1:00 a.m. seemingly engaged in an argument with another man.
That other man was an armed security guard hired to patrol the property.
Surveillance footage shows that the guard pulled out a gun and shot the victim multiple times.
The security guard arrested has been identified as Brian Love, 26.
Love left the scene in a white SUV, and detectives uncovered that he was a security guard employed to patrol the complex.
Love did not notify his employer nor the authorities about the shooting.
Officers located Love at an apartment in the 5100 block of Sahara Avenue and took him into custody on Saturday around 5:00 p.m.
Police said that surveillance footage shows that Garcia posed no imminent threat to the security guard.
Love is being charged with one count of murder.
