Las Vegas Security Officer Charged With Murder

A Las Vegas security officer is under arrest and charged with murder today according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police.
An altercation led to the deadly shooting near the Las Vegas Strip, police said.
The incident happened in the parking lot of the Fun City Motel located near Sahara Boulevard and Las Vegas Boulevard around 12:45 p.m. on Thursday.
The suspected shooter is an armed security guard who was at the motel for his lunch break, according to detectives with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
The security guard confronted the victim and after a brief altercation, pulled out his gun and shot the victim once, police said.
The security guard then holstered his weapon. He and an employee from a nearby business then rendered aid to the victim. The security guard also called 911, police added.
Police took the security guard into custody and homicide detectives have charged him with murder.
