Legally blind man accused of groping Cleveland Hopkins International Airport employee
CLEVELAND, Ohio May 18 2018Â — A legally blind man is accused of groping a passenger assistant at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport after he asked the 24-year-old woman for help, police said.
The man, who has not been formally charged, is well-known at the airport for groping other ABM passenger assistants that help customers, according to a police report.
The incident happened about 11 a.m. Monday inside the airport near the Delta ticketing gate.
The man asked for help getting from the ticketing area to the gate for his out-going flight, according to police.
The 24-year-old woman told police she walked with the man over to the gate and the man groped her chest, according to police.
The woman told him to stop and he apologized, saying it was a mistake, according to police reports. A co-worker pulled out her phone and recorded the incident. Police told her to keep the video in order to give it to prosecutors.
The co-worker told police the man flies out of the airport frequently and has groped several other passenger assistants in the past, police reports say
The employee reported the incident to her supervisor, who told her to make a report with Cleveland police’s airport unit.
The man was not arrested at the time and no formal charges have been filed.
