A longtime security officer suddenly passed away last week.
Stephanie Mechele Cooper, 52, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2019. She was born Aug. 11, 1966, in Charleston, South Carolina.
Stephanie was a graduate of Green Run High School, where she was a member of the gymnastic and track teams and attended Howard University.
She worked as a security officer for Pembroke Mall for 15 years and Securitas at Landstown Yards for 17 years. Stephanie was a member of Union Baptist Church, Virginia Beach.
She is survived by her husband, Charles R. Cooper Sr.; one daughter, Jessica Brown; parents, Olivia and Lem Roberts; two brothers, Kendall Roberts and Marvin Roberts; one grandson, Jahki Brickhouse; stepchildren, Meoncle Cothron, Chyna Cooper, Jeroald Cothron and Charlie Cooper Jr.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
