Lord & Taylor LP Agent charged with sexual assault of employee
STAMFORD CT June 6 2018—Police say that a loss prevention agent working for Lord & Taylor was arrested for allegedly groping a woman over the weekend who he had lured into a changing room.
Mark Torres, 32, of Crestview Avenue, was charged with fourth-degree sexual assault.
Sgt. Robert Shawinsky said Torres persuaded a female sales associate to accompany him into a changing room to show her the proper way to conduct a pat-down search.
But when he showed her how to do it, he allegedly grabbed the woman’s breasts and her genital area, Shawinsky said.
The woman fled the changing room and reported the assault to her supervisor.
Police were called Sunday afternoon and it was later determined that Torres used the same ruse to allegedly lure another sales woman into a changing room. That woman, however, refused his criminal-justice education overtures.
Torres was released after posting a $10,000 court appearance bond.
