Lowell MA Security company owner charged with attempted rape, assault at high school
LOWELL, Mass. Aug 29 2019- The founder of a prominent Lowell non-profit and owner of Madison Security has been arrested and held on charges pending a dangerousness hearing after he allegedly attacked three people inside Lowell High School Monday afternoon, according to court documents.
Tim Grover, 55, allegedly followed a 20-year-old woman into the high school before cornering her and threatening to rape her, court documents show.
Prosecutors say Grover walked into Lowell HS and cornered a woman inside and said to “call the police because I’m about to rape you.” They say he was highly intoxicated, but the woman was able to escape, and witness say that he also swung at a students.
After the first victim ran off, Grover is accused of taking a swing at a student before law enforcement officers got involved in an altercation with Grover.
Prosecutors say Grover fought cops and threatened them by saying, “I’m going to shoot you I can’t wait to shoot you, I can’t wait to put a bullet in your head.”
Prosecutors said there were a total of three victims in the incident.
Grover founded the non-profit organization Megan’s House, a drug addiction treatment facility for women aged 18-26. It’s named after his daughter Megan, who died after battling drug addiction for 9 years.
The Megan House Foundation sent the following statement to Boston 25 News:
The Megan House Foundation recently learned of the arrest of its founder on serious criminal charges.
Mr. Grover separated completely from The Megan House more than 18 months ago and has not been involved with any aspect of its operations since that time.
There is nothing more important to the staff, leadership and board of The Megan House than creating a safe and supportive environment for the young women we serve. Should any past resident, employee or contractor associated with The Megan House have any concerns, we ask that these concerns be reported immediately to the police.
Grover was taken into custody by park rangers and other officers.
He is charged with attempted rape and assault.
He has been held without bond until a dangerousness hearing scheduled for Friday.
