Lyons NY man arrested after injuring security officer
LYONS, N.Y. Aug 12 2018– Wayne County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested a Lyons man after attacking a court security officer. Deputies arrested 23-year-old Christopher Bell.
Deputies say the incident occurred when Bell was taking part in the “blow off day” festivities in Sodus Point on July 11.
Following Bell’s arraignment on other charges, deputies say that Bell attacked a Sodus Town Court security officer.
As deputies escorted Bell out of the courtroom, it is alleged that Bell bumped into the court security with his shoulder on purpose.
As he was taken to the ground, deputies say that Bell then intentionally used his knee to strike the court security officer.
Bell’s actions caused significant pain and bruising to the court security officer.
A warrant was issued for Bell’s arrest for Assault in the 3rd Degree and was issued an appearance ticket for Harassment in the 2nd Degree. Bell was arrested and arraigned before Judge Fratangelo who released Bell upon his own recognizance.
Bell is to reappear in the Town of Sodus Court at a later date.
