Temple Hills MD June 12 2022
A man and two women were hurt in a shooting at The Shops at Iverson in Temple Hills, Maryland, Friday afternoon, police say.
Two men were inside the mall in the 3700 block of Branch Avenue in the area of the Chipotle when they got into an argument with two women and a man, Prince George’s County Police Chief Malik Aziz said.
As the two men were leaving, one of them turned around and started shooting at the group.
A man who was shot has life-threatening injuries and the two women are seriously injured, Aziz said.
An off-duty officer and two officers who were working at the mall came to the aid of the victims after the gunfire rang out about 12:45 p.m., Aziz said.
Witnesses told police the suspects, who were wearing ski masks, ran off. Aziz said it’s unclear if they got into a vehicle.
Police called it a cowardly act.
Prince George’s County police are still searching for them.
Photos of the scene showed numerous police evidence markers in the parking lot right outside of the Chipotle and Mamma Lucia Italian Eatery at the shopping center. Yellow crime tape blocked off the area.
Officers are looking for the suspect or suspects involved. They are looking for surveillance video help to identify.
Some stores were closed for several hours during the investigation.
