Man accused of assaulting North Florida Regional security
Gainesville FL Jan 1 2022 — Wednesday afternoon the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office says 28-year-old Alexander Watson assaulted four North Florida Regional Medical Center security guards, and pulled the fire alarm.
A deputy says he responded to the hospital around 4 PM for a “Code red alarm.”
The arrest report says Watson left a hospital room , struck a security guard, pushed him into the door, and then pulled the fire alarm.
Then, Watson is accused of running to the second floor, picking another security guard off the floor, and trying to slam him onto the ground. Next, Watson is accused of pushing a third security guard into the wall.
As security tried to control Watson, his arrest report says he grabbed a fourth victim’s arm, slammed his hand into the wall, and asked “How are your knuckles feeling.”
A security guard Stunned Watson in the leg with a taser, but Watson tried to get control of it, and had his finger on the trigger, the arrest report says. It does not explain how the situation ended.
Watson is charged with one count of resisting an officer with violence, four counts of battery, and one count of aggravated assault.
The arrest report does not explain if Watson was a patient, or visitor at the hospital.
