Man accused of shooting security guard outside Lancaster club turns himself in 2 years later
Lancaster County PA Aug 6 2020 A former Lancaster County man surrendered to police Tuesday more than two years after authorities say he got kicked out of a Lancaster club and shot its security guard.
Freddys Dionicio-Gomez, 35, was charged with attempted homicide, recklessly endangering another person and discharging a firearm into an occupied structure for the 2018 altercation.
The security guard told Lancaster police he removed two people from the club on the 400 block of Pershing Avenue on Jan. 26, 2018. One of the visitors told the guard they were going to come back and shoot him, police said.
Police said the man returned with a handgun and shot the guard in the arm while aiming at another person nearby. The guard had gunpowder burns on his face from the weapon being discharged so close to his head, police said.
The gun was fired about 10 to 12 times during the incident, according to police.
Dionicio-Gomez was taken into custody Tuesday and processed on the charges. Bail information was not immediately available.
